Šteins in 3D: live position and orbit

A small main-belt asteroid about 5 kilometres across, visited by ESA’s Rosetta in 2008. It was the first E-type asteroid seen up close, and a loosely bound pile of rubble.

Šteins is shown at its real position, computed from NASA/JPL ephemeris data. The view opens on Šteins; you can travel in time, switch between the educational overview and the true-scale voyage, and compare it with every other body of the solar system.
