Description published by the archive
The OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security, Regolith Explorer) mission returned a sample of regolith material from the near-Earth carbonaceous asteroid (101955) Bennu in April 2021. 121.6g of material were successfully returned to earth on 21 September 2023. Following this, the spacecraft was redirected for an extended mission to asteroid (99942) Apophis.
