The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), launched on June 18, 2009, continues to orbit and investigate the Moon. The mission objectives include producing a high-resolution global topographic model, mapping the distribution of hydrogen, and identifying lunar landing sites and associated hazards.
