The start the archive declares is the start of the project, not the launch, and an end it does not declare does not mean the mission is still running.

A declared target is what the archive files the mission’s data under, not a record of observation.
Description published by the archive
"EPOXI" is the moniket assigned to the two extended missions for the Deep Impact spacecraft: the Extrasolar Planet Observation and Characterization (EPOCh) Mission, and the Deep Impact Extended Investigation (DIXI) mission. As part of the DIXI mission, the spacecraft flew by Comet 103P/Hartley 2. As part of the EPOCh mission, the spacecraft used the larger of its two telescopes to find extrasolar planets using the transit method.
