Giacobini–Zinner in 3D: live position and orbit

A small comet about 2 kilometres across, the source of the Draconid meteors. On 11 September 1985 the International Cometary Explorer flew past it: the first spacecraft to fly by a comet.

Giacobini–Zinner is shown at its real position, computed from NASA/JPL ephemeris data. The view opens on Giacobini–Zinner; you can travel in time, switch between the educational overview and the true-scale voyage, and compare it with every other body of the solar system.
