Apophis in 3D: live position and orbit

An asteroid about 340 metres across that will pass safely about 32,000 kilometres from Earth’s surface on 13 April 2029. NASA’s OSIRIS-APEX spacecraft will study it during that approach.

Apophis is shown at its real position, computed from NASA/JPL ephemeris data. The view opens on Apophis; you can travel in time, switch between the educational overview and the true-scale voyage, and compare it with every other body of the solar system.
